Welcome to the Power of Prevention Toolkit
Healthy employees are an asset to any successful organization. Visits to your physician can be a key part in keeping your body and mind healthy. Your physician is responsible for your general health and needs. Physicians are there to directly help you, so if you do not see your physician for check ups then you will be missing out on ways to improve you health.
To address these concerns, Monterey County’s Health Promotion Partnership Employee Wellness program is providing this WorkPerks Tool Kit: The Power of Prevention.
This Tool Kit will help you to learn:
- Why to have physical examinations
- Make the most out your doctor visit
- Health Screenings
- Immunizations
This Tool Kit is in 6 Steps:
Step 1 - Take the quizThe following quiz will help you identify the type and amount of physical activity you are getting currently. For each statement, circle the response that is closest to how you are managing your physical activity currently. Add up your score; then refer to "What do my results mean?" below. | | Last Updated on Wednesday, 13 July 2011 12:40 | Step 2 - View the slideshowPower of Prevention | | Last Updated on Tuesday, 07 June 2011 08:58 | Step 3 - Goal plannerTo keep your own up-to-date medical records, fill in your health information. Take this record with you when you see your doctor. Make any changes or additions as they occur and update as necessary. | | Last Updated on Tuesday, 07 June 2011 08:09 | Step 4 - HandoutsYour primary care physician is responsible for your general health needs, such as periodic health screenings and immunizations, and treatment for common problems that don’t require a specialist. Professional race car drivers know that to keep their vehicles in tip-top shape and avoid breakdowns, they need to get regular oil changes and servicing. Just as cars require regular maintenance, you need regular checkups with your doctor. It’s certainly not wise to wait until you get sick. | | Last Updated on Tuesday, 07 June 2011 08:09 | Step 5 - ResourcesThe Power of Prevention additional resources
