Monday, July 16th: At Marina Certified Farmers' Market Come into Everyone’s Harvest outdoor kitchen at the Farmers’ Market and prepare a healthy, farm-fresh meal with your family and a chef. Once the workshop is completed, the 1st 10 families to participate will receive a $10 coupon to shop the Farmers’ Market. Workshops are free to the public, sponsored by the Nancy Buck Ransom Foundation, Project 17, MC Gives, and USDA. 4:00 PM Low- and No-Sugar Jams 5:30 PM Stone Fruit Salsa and Lettuce Tacos—A Summertime Picnic! At 4:00 PM, Jordan Champagne of Happy Girl Kitchen Co. wil lead the Low- and No-Sugar Jams workshop. Todd and Jordan Champagne started Happy Girl Kitchen Co. out of sheer love of food. They have spent years working on farms and learning the art of preserving the bounty of each season’s produce. Now, they love sharing these food preservation techniques with others and host a variety of workshops around California. Their cafe, where a delicious array of house-made treats, local foods and preservation supplies can be found islocated at 173 Central Ave in Pacific Grove, CA. At 5:30 AM, Kari Bernardi will lead the Stone Fruit Salsa and Lettuce Tacos workshop. Kari is a certified Gourmet Raw Food Chef and Instructor. She is the founding Director of the CSUMB Monterey Bay’s Farm to School Partnership and a former faculty member of Living Light CulinaryArts Institute. For 20 years, Ms. Bernardi has brought fresh organic produce into schools and taught farm fresh nutrition education to students from five to 95 years old.
