Discuss how novel viruses enter the human population and then go on to cause pandemics
Identify how health providers and public health professionals are part of world-wide efforts to prevent the transfer of pathogens between humans and animals
Recognize and discuss emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases in Monterey County

The presentational method for this activity will be Lecture, Case Presentation, and Q&A Period, and will be evaluated by each participant at the conclusion of the activity.
