    TB is a disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but TB bacteria can attack any part of the body including the kidneys, spine, and brain. People with TB who are not sick have what is called latent TB infection (LTBI). People with TB who become sick have TB disease.

    If not treated properly, TB disease can be fatal. There is good news. People with TB disease can be treated if they seek medical help.

    Zika virus disease (Zika) is a disease caused by the Zika virus, which is spread to people primarily through the bite of an infected mosquito.  People usually don’t get sick enough to go to the hospital, and they very rarely die of Zika.

    Zika virus infection during pregnancy can cause a serious birth defect called microcephaly, as well as other severe fetal brain defects.  Pregnant women should not travel to any area where the Zika virus is spreading.   If you must travel to those areas, contact your healthcare provider first & strictly follow steps to prevent mosquito bites during your trip.
