    for Family Fun Festival!

    May is Mental Health Awareness Month! As part of the celebration, the Monterey County Health Department’s Behavioral Health Bureau and community partners are sponsoring Family Fun Festival.  This free event will be held on Sunday, May 17th from Noon to 4 pm at Natividad Creek Park in Salinas.

    The celebration includes music and dance performances from local groups.  Throughout the event there will be games and activities for family members of all ages.

    *Bring your own bag

    Single use plastic bags are no longer available at the places you shop in unincorporated Monterey County. 

    To help shoppers prepare to BYOB, the Monterey County Health Department’s Environmental Health Bureau in partnership with Waste Management, The Offset Project and Save Our Shores has been giving out reusable bags at various locations throughout the county.

    Whether you are looking for a small, medium or big dog Monterey County Animal Shelter may have just what you are looking for.  Cupcake and Kiwi are just two of the dogs waiting for you.

    Visit the Monterey County Animal Shelter at 160 Hitchcock Road in Salinas, meet Cupcake, Kiwi and the other animals.  Shelter hours Noon to 5:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

    CERS (California Electronic Reporting System) is a statewide web-based system to support California Unified Program Agencies (CUPAs) and Participating Agencies (PAs) in electronically collecting and reporting various hazardous materials-related data such as  Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP), Hazardous Waste Onsite Treatment,  Hazardous Waste Tank Closures, Remote Waste Consolidation, Underground Storage Tanks (UST) Aboveground petroleum storage over 1,320 gallons (APSA/SPCC)and Recyclable Materials Reports.
     
    CERSMonterey County Environmental Health Bureau (EHB) is requesting all regulated facilities to submit their various hazardous materials-related data to the CERS database.
