• Zika Virus

    Zika virus is spread to people through mosquito bites. The most common symptoms of Zika virus disease are fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes). The illness is usually mild with symptoms lasting from several days to a week. Severe disease requiring hospitalization is uncommon.

    Influenza has arrived in Monterey County and can linger into spring.  If you or your loved ones have not received a flu vaccination it isn't too late. 

    The CDC recommends that everyone older than 6 months of age get vaccinated for influenza every year.
