    *Bring your own bag

    Are you prepared to bring your own bag (BYOB)?  Starting this Friday, March 27th single use plastic bags will no longer be available at the places you shop in unincorporated Monterey County. 

    To help shoppers prepare to BYOB, the Monterey County Health Department’s Environmental Health Bureau in partnership with Waste Management, The Offset Project and Save Our Shores has been giving out reusable bags at various locations throughout the county.

    Visit the Monterey County Animal Shelter at 160 Hitchcock Road in Salinas, meet the kitty in the tux,  Simba and the other animals.  Shelter hours Noon to 5:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
