    There is no known safe level of lead in the body.

    Small amounts of lead can build up in the body and cause lifelong learning and behavior problems. Buildup of lead in the body is referred to as lead poisoning.

    Lead Poisoning is the most common environmental illness in California children.

    Zika virus disease (Zika) is a disease caused by the Zika virus, which is spread to people primarily through the bite of an infected mosquito.  People usually don’t get sick enough to go to the hospital, and they very rarely die of Zika.

    Zika virus infection during pregnancy can cause a serious birth defect called microcephaly, as well as other severe fetal brain defects.  Pregnant women should not travel to any area where the Zika virus is spreading.   If you must travel to those areas, contact your healthcare provider first & strictly follow steps to prevent mosquito bites during your trip.
